Common questions

What's the difference between sports massage and a relaxing massage?

Sports and deep tissue massage works into the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to release tight, overworked areas and restore movement. It can be uncomfortable in places. A Swedish or aromatherapy massage uses flowing, lighter pressure and is aimed at relaxation. Both are available. just say which you're after when you book.

Do I need to be sporty to have a sports massage?

Not at all. Most people who book sports massage at the studio have desk-job backs, shoulders that live up by their ears, or a niggle from gardening. Steph has worked in sports clubs and events, but the same techniques help anyone who's stiff and sore.

What should I wear?

Whatever you're comfortable in. For massage you'll be asked to undress to your underwear or just uncover the area being treated, and you're covered with towels throughout. Steph leaves the room while you get ready. For reflexology you stay dressed, though loose trousers help.

Can I have a massage while I'm pregnant?

Yes. pregnancy massage is available after the first trimester, using side-lying positioning and pillows so you're properly supported. Post-natal massage and infant massage are offered too. If your pregnancy is being monitored for any reason, check with your midwife first.

How soon can I be seen for back pain?

Usually within a few days. Text or WhatsApp 07970 468 701 and Steph will fit you in as soon as she can. for acute back, neck or shoulder pain it's worth mentioning that when you get in touch.
