Manual lymphatic drainage is a gentle, rhythmic massage technique that encourages lymph fluid to move, helping with puffiness, heaviness and fluid retention. At The Therapy Studio in Rimington a 60-minute treatment is £65 and a 90-minute treatment is £85.
How it differs from other massage
The pressure is far lighter than people expect — it is the rhythm and direction that matter, not depth. Working too firmly would actually make it less effective.
Sessions are calm and repetitive, and many people find them very relaxing.
Who it suits
People with puffiness, a heavy feeling in the legs, or general sluggishness, and those recovering from certain procedures where drainage has been recommended.
It is not appropriate with some medical conditions, including certain heart, kidney, infection or clotting problems, so your history is checked first.
