Radiofrequency microneedling

Radiofrequency microneedling

From £200 — guide price

Radiofrequency microneedling combines fine insulated needles with radiofrequency energy delivered at a set depth in the skin. The needling triggers collagen production while the heat tightens existing collagen, so you get resurfacing and firming from the same treatment.

It's the treatment to ask about for early sagging along the jawline, enlarged pores, acne scarring, crepey texture and skin that has lost its bounce. Because the energy is delivered below the surface, it's generally safer for a wider range of skin tones than laser resurfacing.

Expect a course of three sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, with results continuing to build for around three months as new collagen forms.

Microneedling

Microneedling

From £120 — guide price

Microneedling creates thousands of microscopic channels in the skin. Your body responds by producing fresh collagen and elastin, which smooths texture, softens scarring and brightens a dull complexion.

It pairs well with serums, since the channels let active ingredients reach far deeper than they would from a bottle at home. Needling can also be combined with PRP taken from your own blood.

A course of three to six sessions is usual depending on what you're treating.

Chemical peels

Chemical peels

From £90 — guide price

A chemical peel uses a professional-strength acid solution to loosen dead surface cells and speed up the skin's natural turnover. Peels are chosen to match the concern: salicylic-based for congestion and breakouts, lactic or mandelic for sensitivity and dryness, and stronger blends for pigmentation and sun damage.

Peels are a quick, sensible treatment when you want a visible freshen-up without needles. They're often used as a course alongside needling rather than instead of it.

PRP and iPRF vampire facial

PRP and iPRF vampire facial

From £200 — guide price

A small sample of your blood is spun in a centrifuge to separate out the platelet-rich plasma, which is full of your own growth factors. That plasma is then microneedled or injected back into the skin to drive repair and rejuvenation.

Because it uses nothing but your own blood, it suits people who want results without synthetic product. It works well on overall skin quality, fine lines and under-eye tiredness.

Facials and skin health

Facials and skin health

From £60 — guide price

Prescriptive facials for people who want their skin looked after properly rather than just cleansed — including carboxytherapy and skin-boosting facials, plus Neal's Yard organic holistic facials for sensitive skin and for anyone who wants an hour of genuine calm.

Steph will also put together a simple home routine that supports whatever clinic treatment you're having. There's no point resurfacing skin that goes home to the wrong products.

Common questions

What's the difference between microneedling and radiofrequency microneedling?

Standard microneedling creates tiny channels in the skin to trigger collagen production, which is excellent for texture, scarring and dullness. Radiofrequency microneedling adds heat energy at a controlled depth beneath the surface, so it tightens and remodels as well as resurfaces. RF is the stronger option for laxity, deeper acne scarring and early jowling.

How much downtime should I plan for?

Microneedling leaves the skin pink and warm, like mild sunburn, for about 24 to 48 hours. Radiofrequency microneedling can leave a grid pattern and some swelling for two to three days. A light peel may just flake slightly; a stronger peel can shed visibly for three to five days. Steph will tell you exactly what to expect before you book so you can plan around events.

How many sessions will I need?

Most skin concerns respond best to a course — usually three sessions four to six weeks apart, then a maintenance treatment a couple of times a year. Scarring and pigmentation often need more; a simple glow before an occasion may only need one.

Can I have skin treatments if I have sensitive skin or rosacea?

Often yes, but the choice of treatment matters. Steph will assess your skin at consultation and may start with gentler options such as a hydrating facial or a mild peel before moving on to needling.

Do I need to prepare my skin beforehand?

For peels and needling you'll be asked to stop retinoids and strong acids for a few days beforehand, avoid sunbeds and fake tan, and come with clean skin. Daily SPF afterwards is essential — it protects the result you've paid for.
