Profhilo is an injectable hyaluronic acid treatment that spreads under the skin to support hydration, firmness and texture without changing your facial shape. At The Therapy Studio in Rimington, around ten minutes from Clitheroe, it is normally given as two sessions four weeks apart, from a guide price of £125 a session.
Profhilo is not a filler and it is not Botox. It contains a high concentration of hyaluronic acid that spreads through the skin rather than sitting in one place, so it hydrates widely and encourages your own collagen and elastin over the following weeks.
The result is skin that looks better hydrated and a little firmer, with fine crepey lines softened. Your features are unchanged — nothing is lifted, filled or frozen.
People whose skin has started to look dull, dry or slightly lax, usually from the mid-thirties onwards. It is often chosen by people who do not want filler but feel their skin has lost condition.
As well as the face, Profhilo is commonly used on the neck, décolletage and the backs of the hands. Steph will tell you at consultation whether it is the right choice or whether a skin booster or polynucleotides would suit you better.
The standard protocol is two treatments four weeks apart, each taking around thirty minutes including numbing. Improvement builds over the following four to eight weeks as collagen responds.
Most people then have a single top-up session every six months to hold the result.
